| Domestic life in Vers |
We arrived a week ago and have been settling in, slowing down, and reacquainting ourselves with our little village, the surrounding towns, and our friends. Our little kitchen requires creativity (very few pots or utensils and no oven), but so far we've been able to find lots of intriguing things to prepare from the nearby open markets.

We took a drive to the city of Orange, the site of this Roman theater. The fact that it stands to this day is a remarkable testament to Roman engineering. All that stuff that Linda studied in theater school was here in its original form. Amazing. |

Our time in Vers-Pont-du-Gard always start with a walk to this famous bridge, the aqueduct built by the Romans to bring water to Nimes from the city of Uzes, a distance of approx. 31 miles. After the Eiffel Tower, it's the most visisted site in France, and we live a thirty minute walk from it. The photos don't do justice to its size and grandeur, not to mention the fact that it's an engineering feat that boggles the mind.
